John Edwards endorsement of Barack Obama today didn't make me think any more of Obama but it did make me think a lot less of Edwards, whom I had originally favored to win the Democratic nomination. His timing was such as to rain on Hillary's parade having just come off a resounding victory in West Virginia. In his speech Edwards said in effect, "to hell with West Virginia", they don't count. Rather than endorsing Obama out of conviction, by waiting this late in the process, Edwards appears only to have gaged that Obama will win and that he, Edwards, wants to be on the winning team. He looks like an opportunist who doesn't want to shut the door on his chances of running for Vice President again or at least being offered a cabinet post in an Obama administration. This kind of chinanery makes me want Hillary to win all the more.

Looks like they're ganging up on Hillary again. Obama should watch out, it looked like Edwards was outshining him.
