Save Us From Pundits

The arrogance of so-called reporters in telling us that the Democratic nomination race is over grows more tiresome daily. I don't recall hearing many sports announcers telling their audience at the end of the eight inning that since one team is down by two runs, that they should really consider just forfeiting the game and letting everyone go home.
Continuing the sports analogy, I don't think an announcer who spent most of the entire game trashing one of the teams would have much credibility with the audience either. Oh, they would probably only piss off fans of the team being trashed, since the other team's fans would like to win the game even if it was with a forfeiture. But real fans of the game think it's important to play out the game no matter what. When I watch a sports game though, I expect to hear the announcer's opinions being expressed. When I watch political news coverage I don't expect, nor do I want to know, the opinions of the announcers.
